Three days before my grandpa passed away I was in Colorado shooting this lovely couple.

This lovely couple, who were anxiously awaiting for the arrival of their “little cub.”

I feel lucky just knowing these two.

I decided to share their photos on this blog [as opposed to my photography site] for a little something different.

Just four short days after this shoot, Laura + Travis welcomed baby Tate into the world.  Quite unexpected at just over 4 weeks early.  You can read their incredible birth story here.

I got news of their arrival the morning of my grandpa’s funeral and was overcome with emotion.  Sadness for my grandpa’s passing but happiness for my friends. 

Their news made a really hard day just a little bit easier.  Easier to celebrate my grandpa’s life, just as he wanted it.

 

I’m so glad I was able to document their love + excitement before Tate’s early arrival!
